I just read in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette of Alex's passing. When I was growing up in Newberry, Alex lived in an apartment at the end of our block. I was a bright but chubby teenager, the second of seven children and had a lot of responsibilities. When I needed to talk, Alex was always there - usually on his back "porch". He listened, never judged, and offered advice. I remember him telling me, "One day you're gonna wow them all.". Well, Alex, it took longer than expected. It's been a long, mostly uphill, road. I am now 70 years young and in the best shape I've ever been, physically and mentally. Over the years, whenever the curve balls were coming fast and furious, I would remember those words and tell myself that "someday is coming". It's here now, and I wish Alex could see me now. Your family is in my prayers. With heartfelt sympathy, Betsy Ross McCoy
