Obituary For Alma Mae Fenstermacher
Alma Mae Fenstermacher, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her daughter’s residence in Danville PA on April 18, 2025. She was born July 13, 1928, in Ringtown, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mabel Davidson Ambrose.
Alma graduated from Ringtown High School in 1946. She was married to the love of her life of 49 years, the late Millard Romaine Fenstermacher, who preceded her in death October 6, 1994. They were married on August 24, 1946.
Alma was a member of Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Danville PA. While residing in Leesburg, Florida, she had several memberships including Mid Florida Lakes Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, Quilters Guild and the Sewing Guild for the Shriner’s.
Alma was a devoted homemaker for most of her life, with her life centered around her home, family, and friends. Her family will remember the joy she took in quilting and playing shuffleboard. She left a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to live through the lives she has touched.
She is survived by one son, Daniel, and his wife Sharon of Breinigsville PA and two daughters: Patricia Pensyl and her husband David of Elysburg, PA and Susan Hilkert and her husband Robert of Danville, PA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Christopher, Thomas, Sarah, D. Scott, Adam, Ashley, and Abigail as well as 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters: Jean Breisch of Palmyra PA and Agnes Adams of Kulpmont PA and several nieces and nephews.
Alma was preceded in death by eight brothers: Thomas, Harry, Ralph, John, James, Joseph, Theodore, and Paul and two sisters, Mary and Shirley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Alma’s Life to be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Trinity Oak Grove Lutheran Church 483 Oak Grove Road Danville PA with her grandson, the Reverend Donald Jones III officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10:30 – 11:45 PM. Burial will follow in Oake Grove Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
