Obituary For Arthur O. Gerringer

Arthur O. “Artie” Gerringer, 68, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 1, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 19, 1957, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Donald Barton Gerringer and Helen Marie Hoffman Gerringer of Danville, PA, who survives.

Artie graduated from Danville High School in 1975.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Deborah R. Gerringer. They were married June 15, 1985.

A dedicated public servant, he was employed as the superintendent of the Danville Water Treatment Plant for 38 years and eight months, from where he retired on April 19, 2012. His dedication to his profession reflected his deep sense of responsibility and love for his community.

An avid sprint car racing fan and NASCAR fan, he enjoyed attending the Selinsgrove Speedway. He loved to keep an immaculate lawn at the home he loved.

Artie enjoyed classic rock music and playing cards with his family. He was a loving pap-pap and treasured time with all of his family.

He will be remembered by many for his kind and thoughtful heart. His hardworking ethic was evident to all who worked with him. Art will be remembered by his family as being a great provider for all of them and one of the most loyal and selfless men they knew. Artie’s warmth, kindness, and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons: Arthur O. Gerringer, II and his wife Renee, Keith A. Gerringer and his wife Janine; two daughters: Lindsey L. Pealer and her husband Blake and Ashley N. Foust and her husband Michael; all of Danville, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Morgan, Maley, Emmett, Avery, Madden, Cole and Jace, all of whom he adored. Also surviving is his brother: Ray C. Gerringer and his wife Melanie and two sisters: Janet L. Hoffman and her husband Gary and Beth A. Mertz and her husband Denny; all of Danville, PA. He is also survived by his close nephew, Tyler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Gerringer and grandfather, Arthur Gerringer as well as a very close aunt and uncle, Doris and Jerry Lemon.

A Celebration of Artie’s Life will be private at the convenience of the family.
