Barbara Mae Riley Hess, 83, of Danville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Grandview Health Homes, Inc. Danville PA. She was born February 28, 1940, in Danville PA the daughter of the late Gilbert and Dorothy (Crumb) Riley

Mrs. Hess was a devoted wife to her husband the late Benjamin Joe Hess for 51 years. They were married on November 20, 1965.

She graduated from Danville High School.

Mrs. Hess worked at Geisinger Medical Center in the Dietary Department and enjoyed being a homemaker most of her life. Alongside her husband, they operated Thunder Mountain Mobile Home Park, Hess Hill Road Danville PA for 37 years.

She was a faithful member of Hendrickson Zion United Methodist Church Danville PA.

Mrs. Hess had many enjoyments in her life which included gardening, camping and fishing. She loved her trips to Florida, Canada, and Texas with her husband and thoroughly enjoyed dining out with him. She also had several special pets in life, among them was a red squirrel and a white tail deer. She was well known for her good sense of humor, and she loved to laugh.

She is survived by one brother; Gilbert Riley and his wife Melanie of Danville, PA and three sisters; Margaret Johnson, Ruth Hess and her husband Robert and Janice Riley; all of Danville PA. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 11:00AM at Hendrickson Zion United Methodist Church 380 Cameltown Hill Road Danville PA with Pastor Dwayne Nichols officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 10:45am at the church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
