Obituary For Barbara R. Klopp

Barbara Rae Klopp, 85, of Riverside, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Watsontown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Watsontown, PA. She was born June 30, 1939, in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of the late Earl and Phyllis (Maurer) Betts.

Barbara graduated from Williamsport High School in 1957 and from the Philadelphia General Hospital Nursing School with a Registered Nursing degree in 1961.

She was married for 59 years to the love of her life, the late Robert E. Klopp who preceded her in death in 2021. They were married on July 16, 1961.

Barbara was employed as a nurse at Bloomsburg Hospital, Danville State Hospital and CMSU, from where she retired in 2001. After retirement, she enjoyed being a Liaison in the Emergency Room Department for 11 years.

She was a member of Danville Assembly of God in Riverside PA.

Barbara enjoyed camping with her family at Hidden Valley Campground where she also enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Her favorite pastime was cooking, especially for her family at holidays. A very selfless person, she will be remembered for her big warm smile, her hospitality and always helping others when she saw a need

She is survived by one son, Brian Klopp and his wife Lori of Turbotvlle PA and one daughter, Brenda Balatincz of Riverside PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Erica Perrige of New Berlin PA; Andrew Perrige of Riverside PA, Julianna Balatincz of Northumberland PA; Brian Klopp, Jr. of Riverside PA, Tim Miller of Watsontown PA and Drew Miller of Dewart PA. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren: Leah and Bailey Klopp and Wyatt Dorman. She is also survived by two brothers: Robert Betts and his wife Sherry of Riverside PA and David Betts and his wife Donna of Danville PA and one sister, Bonnie Diminick and her husband Fred of Danville PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one nephew, Mark Betts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Barbara’s Life to be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bill Conrad officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 Noon until 12:45 PM.
