Obituary For Barry Raymond Reynolds

Barry Raymond Reynolds, 76 of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born on January 28, 1949, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Raymond and Eleanor (Von Blohn) Reynolds.

Barry graduated from Danville Area High School in 1969.

He served his country with honor in the United States Army from November of 1968 to June of 1970 obtaining the rank of Sergeant.

He was married to his loving wife, Ellen (Heath) Reynolds of 46 years. They were married on June 9, 1979.

Barry spent over 18 years as a laborer at Kydex being known as “The Legend”, having also contributed his talents at Magee Carpet Company in Bloomsburg and as a psychiatric aide at Danville State Hospital. Through his work, Barry not only displayed remarkable craftsmanship but also lent his compassionate heart to those around him.

He was a member of the Danville Moose Lodge 1133 and a former member of the Danville Elks Lodge #754 and the Friendship Fire Company.

Barry was a man of many passions. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his avid pursuits of hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of golfing, bowling, and playing softball. However, it was his devotion to his family that truly defined his life. Barry treasured date nights with his beloved wife, Ellen, at their favorite restaurants, Mattucci's and Ghezzi's, where they shared laughter and love. Nothing brought him greater joy than cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events, being a constant source of support and encouragement.

Above all, Barry was a loyal and loving family man whose wise and humorous “Barry-isms” provided guidance and comfort to those around him. He was often heard saying, “Don’t let the tank get below half or the line will freeze,” and “That fish holds heat,” reminding us all of the practical lessons he cherished and imparted.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Jenn Bowman and her husband Keith of Danville, PA and their two children, Lukas and Harper; Christopher Reynolds and his wife Erica of Millville, PA and their two children, Zayleigh and Liam; and Tanya Andrea and her husband Vic of Fairview, TN and their three children, Matthew, Alyssa, and Arianna. Barry is also survived by one brother, Ron Reynolds and his wife Pam of Riverside as well as several cousins.
