Obituary For Betty J. Molter

Betty J. Molter, 91, of Danville, PA, passed away in her husband’s loving arms on January 26, 2025, at her residence. She was born on January 22, 1934, in Selinsgrove, PA; the daughter of the late Paul and Mabel (Markley) Seebold.

Betty graduated from Northumberland High School in 1952.

She was married to the love of her life John L. “Jack” Molter for 72 years. They were married on August 24, 1952.

Betty dedicated her professional life as a Teacher Aide in Danville Area School District, nurturing and guiding countless young minds in their educational journeys. Her commitment to education extended beyond the classroom; she was a fervent advocate for youth, serving as a Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls, a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts, and a Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as babysitting for most of her life. Betty’s deep faith led her to serve as Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, and Board Member at Hendrickson United Methodist Church, where she also shared her joyous voice in the choir.

An enthusiastic game lover at heart, Betty found joy in solving puzzles and engaging her mind in word searches and games like solitaire and being a Master Farkle player. She was known for hosting delightful gatherings and contributing her talents to the church’s ice cream festival. However, her greatest joy stemmed from the time spent with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter; Suann Jones and her husband Larry of Harrisburg and one son; Greg Molter and his wife Kelly of Danville. Betty is also survived by six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren as well as one brother, Donald “Red” Seebold and one cherished great-nephew, Scott Seebold and his wife Annie of Bloomsburg. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she adored.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Joan Louise Molter in 1954 as well as three brothers and two sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Betty’s Life to be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 12:00pm Noon at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 426 Sunbury Road, Riverside, PA 17868 with the Pastor Lisa Mitchell officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00am until 11:45am. Burial will follow in Hendrickson United Methodist Cemetery, Danville.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church, 303 Mulberry Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
