Obituary For Beverley Ann (Balzano) Owens

Beverley Ann Balzano Owens (67) has taken the best seat in heaven. She peacefully passed Sunday, October 5th, 2025, with her husband Patrick and family by her side. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, February 21, 1958, to Robert Eugene Balzano and Eleanor Ruth (McNulty) Balzano. She married Patrick Joseph Owens on August 27, 1976, and recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.

Beverley’s early years were spent in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, and eventually Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania & completed coursework at Penn State Altoona.

Beverley apprenticed as a tailor eventually opening a business in Cambria County. In the mid-80s, Beverley relocated to Selinsgrove opening Beverley’s in Downtown Selinsgrove. Serving the community for almost 40 years, her work and style is woven into community spaces, streetscapes, murals, businesses, and private homes. She expanded her signature style into our family’s beloved Triple Creek Lodge in Millheim, Pennsylvania where she envisioned and created a welcoming space for all.

Beverley was a force like no other, often referred to as “Badass”, was driven to serve others, and provided a seat at the dinner table for people from all walks of life. She had an incredible way of connecting the dots with people, places, and things. Life won’t be the same, but traditions will remain with family dinners, making Ravioli, Cannolis and Limoncello, baseball games, saving buildings, music, travel, and any adventures we create. In the end, memories are what carry us forward. “It’s not the length of life, but the depth of life” Emerson.

Surviving are husband Patrick; daughter, Bobbie Jean Owens (Jeff Ries) and son Joshua Caleb Owens (Megan); four beautiful grandchildren, Ian (Emily), Evalin, Louis, and Porter; siblings Belinda Passanita (Tony), Robert “Jim” Balzano (Pennie), and Jane Caretti (Arnold), mother Eleanor Balzano-Cree, nieces Maria, Bindie, Toni Marie, Victoria, Rebekah, Rachael, and nephew Isaac. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Maurice and Jane McNulty, Vito and Josephine Balzano, her father Robert (Bobby B) Eugene Balzano, and nephew Dominic Robert Balzano.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the circle of friends who quietly shared this journey with us, overwhelmed us with love, and celebrated life along the way.

Condolences

I was honored to play in a wedding group at that time. And our group played for Beverly and Pat!s wedding. It was a late afternoon wedding and seasonally warm. It was the most romantic and spiritual wedding I have ever participated in. Beverly was beaming from ear to ear and radiant . The church echoed Gods presence and was present till her last breath. The rest of her life's journey was paved in gold and then Our Lord reached down and carried her home in His loving arms. My condolences to the entire family. Linda McNulty, children and grandchildren

Patrick, Bobbie, Jeff, Josh, I am so sorry to hear about Bev's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. And, I will always remember the kindness that all of you extended to me. My month long visit back to S.U. in 2021, was a major healing moment for me. And, I will always consider the Owens Family, my family in Selinsgrove. Much Love, Always. Darrell Willis.

Aunt Bev always had the best desserts at our family events, we always looked forward to what she was bringing, she also always took the time to make the most beautiful and sentimental gifts with family mementos. Christmas stockings, pins, rings, and anything in between with the old buttons, keys and other odds and ends from our great grandparents keepsakes. The Aunt who would call to just bs and always answer your call, no matter what she was doing she stopped to listen and offer advice. I'm so thankful I had the conversations Iwhen I had them with my Badass Aunt Bev.

I'm so shocked and saddened to learn that Bev passed away. She was so incredibly helpful as we built the Gelnett Library, advising on interior decoration and helping us in so many ways. In the years afterwards she made me smile whenever she came into the library. She was always so willing to help us and so often had a story to tell. Pam Ross
