Obituaries

Carla Jean Thomas, 68, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. She was born February 17, 1955, at the United States Air Force Hospital, Wimpole Park, Gerington, England. She was the daughter of the Dotty Marvellea (Bolyard) Knotts and Delbert Kirkwood Knotts

With her father being in the Air Force, she attended school at a number of different locations. California, Michigan, and Panama to name a few, with her education being completed in Oakland, Maryland.

Carla was a domestic engineer and got great pleasure out of decorating her home. Carla also had a soft spot for animals which was demonstrated by the way she spoiled her cats, Cissy, Roxy, Smokey, and Round Cat.

She is survived by two sons; James Vance (Courtney) of Valley View, PA; and Scott McCrobie of Pottsville, PA. Carla is also survived by four brothers; Dennis Knotts (Linda) of Dayton, Ohio; Leslie Keith Knotts (Pam) of Marianna, Florida; Randy Knotts (Leah) of Johnson City, Tennessee; Steve Knotts of Valley View, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by one grandson, Hunter Vance and one great-granddaughter; Madelyn Vance of Valley View, Pennsylvania. Also surviving is her companion Richard Shade of Danville, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Carla’s Life to be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:30AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville, PA 17821. Friends will be received from 11:00AM until the time of service. The family will provide flowers.
