Cora Caitlin Witmer, 12, of Danville PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 12, 2023. She was born December 11, 2010, in Danville PA, the daughter of Scott E. and Laurie Ann Sweney Witmer of Danville PA.

Cora attended Danville Middle School which she thoroughly enjoyed until virtual attendance took over. She was surrounded by friends and always engaged in their lives displaying selfless care for them with her thoughtful gestures.

Cora's interests were endless. Her greatest passion was Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip-Hop through the Catherine Treon School of Dance. Her artistic abilities were significant, especially creating 3-D images and was talented in creating Slime. She was a very adventurous child and always “in the moment” ready to go wherever you wanted to take her. Cora was very fond of her numerous Squishmallows surrounding her and will be greatly missed by her Make-A-Wish Puppy, Cocoa, whom she adored.

She will be lovingly remembered for her humorous, witty and feisty personality throughout her illness and displayed monumental courage each day of her journey. Her colorful personality was indicative of glitter and sparkles spreading joy all around her wherever she went.

In addition to her parents who were her rock and her strength, she is survived by one brother Ryan F. Witmer.

She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Edna J. Witmer of Williamsport and her maternal grandparents; Michael and Maureen Sweney of Gettysburg PA. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Harold Witmer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Walk-Through Celebration of Life to be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
