Obituary For Daniel Walter King

Daniel Walter King, 73, of Bloomsburg, PA, formerly of Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1950, in Lynn, Massachusetts, a son of the late Walter Lambert and Mary Francis (Woodbury) King.

Daniel graduated from Lynn Vo-Tech in 1967.

He served his country with honor in the United States Navy serving for 9 years and received an honorable discharge at the rank of FTM1.

He was married to the love of his life, Sharon “Sheri” (Shaw) King for 51 years. They were married on January 3, 1973.

Daniel was employed as a Computer Systems Technician for numerous companies around the United States. His last employment was with Waukesha Electrics in Waukesha, Wisconsin from where he retired.

He was a member of the William P. Connery Jr. American Legion and the First Lutheran Church on Broadway in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Daniel enjoyed golfing, trivia and musicals as well as playing video games and completing logic puzzles. He also enjoyed the Renaissance Fair and smoking cigars. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by two daughters; Dawn Barrows and her husband, Peter of Lynn, MA and Linda King and her fiancé Richard White of Peabody, MA; and one son; Steven King of Bloomsburg, PA. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren; Alexis, Robert, Ashleigh, Amber, Kahlan, Curtis, George, Thomas, Madison, Carmine, III, Stephanie, Michael, and Rachel as well as nine great grandchildren; Carmine IV, Lucas, Wyatt, Jaden, Sophia, Abigail, Theodoros, Athanasios, and Ian. Daniel is also survived by one brother; Donald King of Lynn, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one loving son; Troy Gerber on December 17, 2002, and one brother; Neil King.

Services will be announced at a later date.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in Daniel’s memory may be made to Habitat Plus, 520 Essex Street, Lynn, MA 01902. Habitat Plus’ mission statement is to provide interim and transitional supportive, sober housing to veterans with psychiatric disabilities, who would otherwise be homeless.
