Obituary For David Thomas Wojtowicz

David Thomas Wojtowicz, 72, of Danville PA entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He was born February 14, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre PA, the son of the late Joseph P. and Verna R. (Zaikoski) Wojtowicz.

Dave was a 1970 graduate of G.A.R. High School and completed his degree in psychology and sociology at Wilkes University where he also competed in football.

He began his employment with CMSU Mental Health/Mental Retardation in 1975 and was eventually promoted to and worked as Administrative Coordinator for Hope Enterprises in Danville, PA who in later years, took over the operation. Dave retired in 2022 after almost 47 years of dedicated service.

Dave was a former member of Elysburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. As time and opportunities allowed and presented themselves, he sought to share his faith and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through personal conversations and sharing social media with family, friends and acquaintances.

As a member of the Valley Gun and Country Club in Elysburg, Dave enjoyed target shooting with friends and family on occasion. He was also fond of sharing his passion of music with others and spent time learning to play instruments, most recently the keyboard and organ.

For many years he took immense pleasure in watching his five sons participate in youth, high school and collegiate sports. Dave enjoyed video recording countless hours of activities with friends and family, including sports competitions, music concerts and unscripted stories from a successful youth hunting or fishing outing. He also spent many fall seasons filming the Southern Columbia Tigers football games from high in the press box for the coaches and teams.
Dave is survived by his sons: David (Beth) Wojtowicz, Adam (Karen) Wojtowicz, Andrew (Courtney) Wojtowicz, Paul Wojtowicz, and Mark (Ellen) Wojtowicz, including several grandchildren, all of whom who live nearby, in Columbia or Luzerne County. Dave is also survived by his beloved twin brother Daniel (Peggy) Wojtowicz, Aiken SC and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by a brother, Joseph Woyton of Phoenix AZ.

Although there will be no formal visitation or service, the family is planning a private gathering to be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA 17821. www.visneski.com

I knew Dave and Danny since kgtn at Dodson School and was proud to continue to be friends with them at G.A.R. Lots of memories on Hazle St., at the Parrish Pool, and in high school. Danny sat behind me in 6th grade, and I often gave rides to Dave at Wilkes on my way to Misericordia. May God have mercy on his soul. Rest in Peace dear Dave.
