Obituary For David Vincent Lynn
David Vincent Lynn, 66, of Danville PA passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He was born March 15, 1956, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Walter J., Jr. and Helen Kmiecinski Lynn.
He graduated from Danville High School in 1974.
In earlier years, he was employed by Smith’s Sports and Toys and Bill’s Sport Shop and then started his employment as a Store Manager at NAPA Auto Parts in Danville PA, from where he retired in 2020.
Dave was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Danville, PA, and a lifelong member of the Friendship Fire Company
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He earned his Eagle Scout Award, which is the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid bowler at Midway Bowling Center, Danville Moose, and the Danville Elks. Dave was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr., the Green Bay Packers, and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Dave will be remembered for his selfless heart for people, always willing to help anyone in need, especially his family and friends. He was an outstanding gift giver to his niece and his nephews and always expressed to them how very proud he was when they continued their education after high school. One of his greatest enjoyments in life were the Christmas Parties with family and friends and loved giving “penalty shots” for reasons not always known. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by one brother, Greg Lynn and his wife Monica of Danville PA and three sisters: Diane Lynn Haines and her husband Mark, Janet Lynn Dennen and her husband Chris and JoEllen Lynn; all of Danville PA, four nephews: Zach and Alan Lynn, Travis and Trevor Haines and one niece, Ashleigh Dennen, all of whom he adored.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 68 Center Street Danville, PA, with the Reverend Timothy Marcoe as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9:00 until 10:45 AM at the church.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in Dave’s name may be made to the Danville Fishing Derby PO Box 297 Danville PA or the Friendship Fire Company 219 Ferry Street Danville PA 17821.
