Obituary For Dawn Ida Lynn

Dawn Ida Lynn, 86, of Danville PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Emmanuel Center for Nursing in Danville PA. She was born September 11, 1937, in Riverside, the daughter of the late Howard C. Mottern and Mary Irma Ressler.

She graduated from Danville High School in 1955.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Earl F. Lynn on January 14, 2001. They were married July 30, 1960.

Being a homemaker for most of her life, she also was employed for several years as a cook for Kennedy Van Saun in Danville PA, from where she retired.

Her great enjoyments in life were cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. Another favorite pastime was fishing with her husband, her three sons and her grandchildren. Dawn will forever be remembered for her delicious meals and the warmth she brought to family gatherings. Her favorite time of the year was hostessing and making holiday meals. Her warm presence and genuine kindness touched the lives of many, leaving lasting impressions that will be cherished forever by her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons: Scott E. Lynn and his wife MaryAnn of Danville PA, Bradley H. Lynn and his wife Sue Ann of Mifflinburg PA and Earl F. Lynn, Jr. and his wife Christine of Danville PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Scott, II, Derrick, Mallory, Kelsey, Terrance, Jamie, Megan and Seth as well as nine great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Also surviving are two sisters: Rae Smith of Riverside and Carol Kovaschetz of Northumberland PA and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be held in Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville PA.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbia-Montour Council of Boy Scouts of America 5 Audubon Court Bloomsburg PA 17815 or the Danville SPCA 1467 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821.
