Obituary For Diane C. Mentrikoski
Diane C. Mentrikoski, 67, of Danville PA passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her residence. She was born June 24, 1956, in Reading, PA the daughter of the late Anthony, Sr. and Jean Marie Lyons Casamassa.
She was married for 43 years to her devoted husband, Joseph J. Mentrikoski, who survives. They were married on September 27, 1980.
Diane graduated from Wilson High School in Reading PA in 1974 and from Pennsylvania State University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology.
She was employed as a Medical Technologist at Geisinger Medical Center for 34 years. Diane was also employed by the Danville Business Alliance from 2013 until 2016.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, her warm heart and her commitment to her family, whom she adored.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children; Mark J. Mentrikoski, M.D. and his wife Amy of Lewisburg PA; Kevin M. Mentrikoski and his wife Christin of Danville PA; and Janelle M Heddings, PhD, and her husband Paul of Morgantown WV. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Elle Charlotte, Rosalia Evangeline, Mitchell Joseph and Everett Amos. Diane is survived by one brother, Anthony J. Casamassa, Jr., and his wife Lori of Robesonia PA and three sisters; Dr. Deborah Beidel and her husband Edward, Jr. of Orlando FL; Karen Gilbert and her husband Richard of Mechanicsburg PA and Lisa Rescorla and her husband Dwight of Reading PA. Also surviving are four nieces and one nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Diane’s life to be held on Thursday evening, November 16, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with the Reverend Mike Bongart officiating. Friends will be received from 4:00 – 5:45 PM. The family will provide flowers.
In memory of Diane's compassionate spirit and her battle with multiple system atrophy, memorial contributions may be made online to the MSA Coalition www.multiplesystematrophy.org. These donations will contribute to ongoing efforts to raise awareness and find a cure for this debilitating disease.
