Obituary For Donna M. Harvey
Donna M. Harvey, 87, of Bloomsburg PA, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville. She was born February 23, 1938, in Bloomsburg PA, the daughter of the late Robert S. and Mildred E. Hock Laubach.
She graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1956.
In earlier years, Donna was employed at Dillon’s Floral in Bloomsburg from 1956-1958 and at Magee Carpet from 1968-1970. She also provided private childcare in her home from 1979-1988. Later, she was employed full time from 1989-2002 as church secretary at First Baptist Church of Danville and then part time from 2005-2017.
Donna was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she was a dedicated servant in the Nursery, assisted with Mothers of Preschoolers Program, and taught a ladies bible study. She was a faithful prayer warrior for her church family. Donna also enjoyed volunteering at Your Loving Choices, Bloomsburg.
Donna’s greatest passion in her lifetime was to love her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, evident by the long hours she spent reading her bible and daily serving Him faithfully.
Her second passion was evident through her often-spoken words which were, “I just want to spend time with my family.”
She loved exercising by walking along the streets of Bloomsburg and was a member of Silver Sneakers. Donna also enjoyed beach vacations with her beloved family and, at times, with her dear church friends as well.
Donna is survived by one son, Kevin Harvey of Bloomsburg, PA and two daughters: Michele Diltz and her husband Stephen of Bloomsburg, PA and Jill Haas and her husband James of Catawissa, PA. She will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Gary E. Laubach, and Ted L. Laubach and one sister, Dorothy K. Simons. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany Haas: one brother, Roland R. “Lefty” Laubach and two sisters, B. Maxine Nevil and Marjorie Dieffenbacher.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Donna’s Life to be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church 12 Brookside Drive (off 642 E.) Danville, PA with her pastor, the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at the church.
