Doris J. “Dorie” Jordan, 89, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born on October 29, 1935, in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late C. D. Lindner and Nina (Roush) Lindner.

Doris "Dorie" graduated from Danville Area High School in 1953 and went on to graduate from cosmetology school and opened a salon with her sister Mary Jane “Janie” in Milton, PA.

She was married to the late John W. Jordan. They were married on April 19, 1993.

Dorie was employed by Grandview Nursing Home for 13 years as a nurse’s aide from where she retired in October of 1995.

She was a member of Chillisquaque Presbyterian Church, Pottsgrove, PA and attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Danville in her later years.

A woman of remarkable spirit, Doris embraced life with a sense of joy that was truly infectious. She delighted in camping trips, cherished family gatherings, and picnics. Her love for music manifested in her talent for playing piano hymns, which resonated with the hearts of her family. Doris had a unique ability to remember the special moments in others’ lives, faithfully sending birthday cards and warm wishes that made each recipient feel cherished.

Described fondly as a tiny lady with a big heart, Doris leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering support. Her family and friends will forever carry her memory, inspired by her gentle spirit and unyielding dedication to others.

She is survived by her children; Randall and Carol Snyder, Nancy and Gary Fawcett, Janet and Dave Smalt, James and Georgia Snyder as well as fourteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Dorie is also survived by one sister, Charlotte and Brad Becker as well as several nephews and one niece.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jane “Janie” Walter and one brother in-law, Frederick Walter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dorie’s Life to be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville, PA with Brad Becker officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 until 10:45am. Private burial will be held in Harmony Cemetery, Milton, PA.
