Obituary For Douglas Robert Stine
Douglas Robert Stine,79, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1947, in Bloomsburg, PA, the son of the late Robert C. and Thelma Jean (English) Stine.
Doug graduated from Millville High School in 1966 and played the saxophone in the marching band and participated in the Future Farmers of America.
He served his country with honor in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War from 1968-1971.
He was married to the love of his life, Billie Jo (Brobst) Stine for 27 years, who survives. They were married on May 8, 1999.
Doug was employed as a carpenter with various construction companies. He was an RV technician for Heritage and Susquehanna RV. Doug also enjoyed driving school bus for Myers Bus Company.
He attended First Baptist Church, Danville and was a member of the Danville American Legion Post 40 and the Danville Moose.
He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman. Doug found immense joy in nature, particularly during moments spent around campfires. He also enjoyed hunting. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Doug will be remembered for his sense of humor, his honesty, faithfulness and being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was known by many to be an all around “good dude.”
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jarrod Douglas Stine and his fiancé Samantha Nichols of Sunbury, PA and one daughter, Ariel Nichole Stine and her fiancé Ian Heaps of Avis, PA as well as two grandchildren, Skyler Nichole Stine-Campbell and Jaxon Wayne Heaps. Doug is also survived by two brothers, Harry Stine of Loveland, Colorado and Jimmie Stine and his wife Wendy of Bloomsburg, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by the untimely death of his daughter, Shanna Jean Stine in 2023 whom he adored. Doug was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry W. Stine and one sister, Jean W. Stine who passed away in 1955.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Doug’s Life to be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive (Route 642 East), Danville, PA with the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Friends will be received from 09:30 AM- 10:45AM. Burial will be held in Elan Memorial Park. Military rites will be accorded by Danville American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor Guard.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Billie Jo Stine, 768 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
