Ethel “Jean” (O’Brien) Schott, 95, of Bloomsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025. She was born on April 6, 1930, in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Anna (Ricketts) O’Brien.

Jean graduated from St. Cyril’s Academy in 1948.

She was married to her devoted husband for 69 years, Joseph A. Schott who preceded her in death in 2023. They were married on May 8, 1954.

Jean is survived by one daughter, MaryAnn Gillespie of Bloomsburg, PA and one granddaughter, Julianne Gillespie and her wife, Sarah.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph W. Schott in 2020, one grandson, Jonathan Gillespie in 2003 and the “favorite son in-law”, Peter Gillespie in 2023.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
