Obituary For Frances G. Davis

Frances G. “Mom” Davis, 96, of Milton, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on what would have been their 79th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at her home. She was born January 8, 1927, in Richmond, Virginia, a daughter of the late Elvin and Lucy (Campbell) Pease.

Frances graduated from Rowan University with a degree in Elementary/Special Education. She taught both elementary school and special education for over 25 years. Frances loved teaching and often said that she loved it so much she felt guilty taking a paycheck.

Her greatest loves were Jesus, her husband, and her family. Beyond that, she loved giving. Frances gave to many ministries and people. Although she lived frugally, she loved collecting books and movies, shopping and giving to those in her world. She left her mark on many as she was Mom Davis to everyone. Her love for God, her wit, sharp mind, generous heart, and wisdom impacted all whose lives she touched.

Frances shared ministry with her husband, the late Reverend Russell E. “Pop” Davis in his active ministry in Brookdale; Grand Gorge, NY; Oxford, MD; an evangelistic ministry for three years; Glassboro, NJ; Point Phillips; Bingen; and Milton. During the three years of evangelistic ministry, the Davises toured the eastern United States ministering in song and message. Frances and her husband served faithfully for twenty-one years in Milton.

She is survived by three sons; her first son, Russell Elvin Davis and his wife Patty of Milton PA and his children; Russell E. Davis, Jr. and wife Tammy, Judie Barlage and her husband Bill, Michael Davis and wife Ashley, Amie Bang, Michael Millett and wife Sarah and Megan Davis and Russ’s grandchildren; Clint Davis and wife Sarah, the late Justin Lloyd, Lauren and her husband Chas, Rebecca, William, Riley, Jackson, Tori, Cassie, Breanna, Michael, Jr., Gavin, Audrey, Hannah, and Gracie; Frances’ second son, the Reverend Arlie E. Davis and his wife Sharon of Milton PA and their children Aidan Davis and Adrienne Gordon and her husband Matt and Arlie’s grandson, Henry; and her third son, Ralph Davis and his wife Lisa of New Columbia PA, their children, Jared Davis, the late Breanna Davis; Courtney Haas, and Blaine Haas and his wife Brittany, and Ralph’s grandchildren Wesley, Tiffany, Kale and Adalynne. There were a total of 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Frances’ Life to be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 3:30 PM in the Auditorium of Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA with the Reverend Dr. Harry F.
