Obituary For Frances L. Shultz

Frances L. Shultz, 97, of Danville PA passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 15, 2024. She was born in Valley Township PA on November 23, 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Blanche M. Shultz Schmidt.

She graduated from Danville High School.

Her late husband, Clinton Shultz entered into Eternal Rest on November 24, 1980.

A devoted housewife and mother, she assisted her husband with many tasks on the farm including raising her five sons together.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Danville PA where she faithfully served as Deaconess and was very active in her Adult Sunday School Class

One of Frances’ greatest enjoyments was quilting. She was very devoted to teaching Friendship Bible Coffees in earlier years. Frances also was very faithful and enjoyed exercising at the Danville Area Community Center for many years.

She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and unwavering love which was a source of comfort and strength to those around her. Her faith played a central role in her life, and she found inspiration through her dedication to teaching Bible Studies and guiding others on their spiritual journeys.

Frances’ greatest joy came from being a loving mother to her five sons who she raised with boundless affection and care. Beyond her commitment to her family, Frances had a passion for quilting which served as a testament to her meticulous attention to detail and her love for creating something beautiful from ordinary fabric.

She is survived by her sons: Ronald Shultz and his wife, Barbara; Marlin Shultz and his wife Karen; Duane Shultz and his wife Molly, Scott Shultz and his wife Lori and Kenneth and his wife Beverly; all of Danville PA as well as 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Betty Schmidt.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Schmidt and two sisters; Catherine Updegrove and Hilda Baylor.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Frances’ life to be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Danville 12 Brookside Drive (off 642 East) with her pastor, the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Burial will be held privately at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Mayberry Township at the convenience of the family.
