Obituary For Helen Deskie

Helen Deskie, 92, of Danville PA, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at her residence. She was born March 24, 1932, in Natalie, PA, the daughter of the late John and Anna Steck Deskie

She graduated from Danville High School in 1951. Helen was a member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church Danville PA.

She was a waitress at Vince’s Restaurant on Route 54 Rush Township PA for many years, from where she retired.

Helen was an avid sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles and loved watching game shows. She had a remarkable sweet tooth and loved flowers. Her greatest enjoyment in life was doing puzzles, many of which have been framed and placed all over her home. Helen was a quiet soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three nieces: Andrea Deskie Williams of Maple Shade NJ; Beverly Ann Deskie who was Helen’s faithful caregiver as and her companion Sean Poe of Danville PA, and Christine Gallina and her husband Peter of Whitehall PA. She is also survived by several great-nephews and great-nieces.

A Celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with Linda L. Wagner as celebrant. Friends will be received from 9:00 – 9:45 AM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery Elysburg PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Hospice 74 Schoolhouse Road Danville PA or Christ Memorial Episcopal Church 156 East Market Street Danville PA.
