Obituary For Helen E. Olson

Helen E. Olson, 80, of Orangeville PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomsburg PA. She was born June 26, 1943, in Danville PA, daughter of the late John Harry Milton and Ruth Melinda Beachel Reedy.

She attended Danville Schools.

Helen is survived by the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Donald Lee Olson, Sr. of Orangeville PA. They were married on July 1, 1961, in Danville PA.

Helen valued her occupation as a homemaker. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in her passion for cooking and baking as well as caring for the daily needs of her family.

She will be remembered for her constant kindness to others and the smile that was always present on her face. She valued the Bible and loved the Lord with a strong foundation of spirituality and guidance in her faith.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Donald Olson, Jr. of Danville PA and Dale Olson of Orangeville PA and one daughter, Denise Olson Davis of Danville PA.

Also surviving is one brother, Dan Reedy and his wife Judy of Unityville PA and two sisters: Lucy Koser of Danville PA and Mary Knapp and her husband George of Danville PA; one brother-in-law Frank Olson and his wife Mary Ann and one sister-in-law Nancy Olson of Bloomsburg PA; two grandchildren: Shawna Saunders and her husband Matt of Mifflinburg PA and Bradley Olson of Bloomsburg PA as well as many nieces and nephews. Her lifelong beloved friend, Noreen Fisher and her husband George also survive.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: William Reedy, Harry Reedy, Bob Reedy and one sister, Betty Lehman. She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Daymon Davis and one granddaughter, Samantha Davis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service to be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Elan Memorial Park 5595 Old Berwick Road Bloomsburg PA with the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund 12 Brookside Drive Danville PA 17821.
