Obituary For Hurley C. Moll

Hurley C. Moll, Sr., 94, formerly of Danville, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at Riverwoods Senior Living Community in Lewisburg, PA. He was born in Valley Township, Montour County, on August 11, 1930, and is a son of the late Solomon and Grace (Raup) Moll.

Hurley was a 1948 graduate of Watsontown High School.

He worked in the banking industry for most of his career and retired from Wells Fargo.

Hurley was a long-time member of the Trinty Lutheran Church of Danville. He was very active in the church and a Boy Scout Leader. Hurley was a past member of the Valley Township Sewer Authority.

He lived his best life hunting, fishing, playing board games, tending to his flower and vegetable gardens, and vacationing with his family. Hurley will be remembered for his deep devotion to family and friends.

He is survived by the love of his life, Helen (Baumer) Moll, his wife, with whom he spent 72 wonderful years. Hurley and Helen purchased land in Valley Township, PA in the early 1950’s and built their Brocious Lumber kit dream house. There, they raised daughter Susan K. Moll (John Wilson) of Harrisburg and son Hurley C. Moll Jr. (Karen Benjamin) of Hershey. Hurley loved to have his grandchildren, Jessica Wilson (Brandon Herr), Jamie Wilson, Samuel Moll, and Lauren Moll come for visits.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, William, Sterling, and Denzel, as well as his sister, Grace.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Hurley’s Life on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 215 East Market Street, Danville with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00PM to 12:45PM. Burial will be private in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Hospice, 74 School house Road, Suite 104, Danville PA 17821.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the kindness and care given by the staff of Interim Healthcare, Geisinger Hospice and the Riverwoods Community.

His last words…” I’ve had a good life, I love my wife, and I'll be ready to go when God calls me.”
