Obituary For James C. Hagenbuch

James C. Hagenbuch, 73, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born on May 6, 1952, in Danville, PA, the son of the late James A. and Lois L. (Cameron) Hagenbuch.

James attended Danville Schools and Columbia Montour Vo-Tech.

When he was young, he worked for his uncle at Glen’s Atlantic Gas Station. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps serving as a Corporal and enlisted after graduation.

James worked at the Danville State Hospital as a Psychiatric Aide, retiring after 35 years of service. He also worked at the Lewisburg Penitentiary, John-David Advertising, and US Gypsum.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville; as well as the Continental Fire Company, Washington “Washies” Fire Company, East End Fire Company and Washingtonville Fire Company. Jim was also a member of the Danville-Mahoning Masonic Lodge #224 and the Danville American Legion Post #40.

He was an excellent carpenter and worked to help many people. Jim was full of fun and brought liveliness and laughter wherever he went. He loved deeply, was an honorable, hardworking, good man.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Annette (Lindemuth) Hagenbuch. They were married on August 10, 2006. He is also survived by his four children; Lori Morrisey (Bill Kancevicius); Angela Maschuck (Michael); Aaron Hagenbuch; and Bryan Hagenbuch (Nicole); as well as five grandchildren, Kiersten Morrisey; Kaleb and Sofie Maschuck; Sawyer and Clara Hagenbuch.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of James’s Life to be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W Mahoning St., Danville, PA with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Friends will be received from 09:00AM to 10:45AM. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Columbarium, Danville. Military rites will be accorded by Danville American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard and the United States Marine National Honor Guard. Danville-Mahoning Lodge #224 will conduct masonic services that will be held prior to 11:00AM.
