Obituary For James "Jim" Richard Foust

James Richard Foust “Jim”, 73, of Catawissa, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his home. He was born December 18, 1949, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Harry Eugene and Doris Christine (Richards) Foust.

Jim graduated from Danville Area High School in 1967.

He served his country with honor in the United States Navy from May of 1969 to May of 1973.

Jim was the founder and owner of Action Cycle Works where he was a Motorcycle Mechanic and was also a machinist at TRW from where he retired.

He was a member of the Catawissa American Legion Post 541 and a former member of many local fire companies.

Jim was an avid hunter and shooter. He loved riding motorcycles and racing them. He won 17 National Records for ¼ mile drag strip bikes. He also loved spending time with his dogs, the many he had over the years. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Jim looked out for everyone and was always willing to help those in need. He will also be remembered for his big heart and witty charm. His greatest blessing in life was his family and friends.

Jim is survived by two daughters; Janelle Foust and Rashelle Koser (Ryan Henderson); both of Danville, PA and one son; Andrew Foust of Catawissa, PA. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Norah Foust, Ava Koser, Benjamin Koser, and Emma Haggerty as well as two aunts; Emma Jean Shalongo and Rose Blue; both of Danville, PA. He is also survived by his best fur friends; Remington and Ruger. Jim is also survived by many close friends that became family over the years.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Lannah Foust in March of 2019.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Jim’s Life to be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 1:00pm at St. Peter United Methodist Church, 426 Sunbury Road, Riverside, PA 17868 with the Pastor Greg Molter officiating. Friends will be received 11:00-12:45pm at the church. A motorcycle and vehicle procession will follow to Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, PA.
