Obituary For Jane C. Campbell

Jane Halterman Campbell, 84, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1939, in Hazleton, PA; a daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Hashagen) Halterman.

Jane graduated from Hazleton High School in 1957 and Geisinger School of Nursing in 1960.

She was married to her devoted husband, William B. Campbell, for 60 beautiful years. They were married on May 25, 1963.

Jane was employed for many years at Geisinger Medical Center and Grandview Nursing Home, Danville.

She was a life member of the Geisinger Nurses Association and a former member and Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.

Jane found solace in the pages of books, cherishing each story that transported her to different lessons and experiences. Her love for cats, especially her beloved cat, Sadie, her phenomenal baking, and the joy she found in watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events highlighted her nurturing and supportive nature. In her younger years, she delighted in sharing the joys of fishing and camping with her sons, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations to come. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with family.

Jane will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, selfless heart, and unwavering dedication to helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by two sons; retired US Army Master Sgt. Brett Campbell (Heather) of Copenhagen, NY, and Dr. Gregg Campbell (Beth) of Danville; as well as four grandchildren, Brooke, Lauren, Joanna, and Adam Campbell. She is also survived by two step grandchildren, Allie, and Jordan and one great grandson, Sumner. Jane is also survived by one brother, Gary Halterman (Donna) of Milton, one sister in-law, Jane Coira of Pittsburgh as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by one sister; Joan Harmon Hill.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide flowers.
