Obituary For Jeffery Lyle Hildebrand

Jeffery Lyle Hildebrand, 73, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, passed away on August 5, 2025. Born on October 5, 1951, in Danville, Pennsylvania, Jeff lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep compassion, and an unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and profession.

Jeff was a man of many talents and steady hands, spending much of his life as a painter and wallpaper hanger. His meticulous profession and pride in a job well done earned him not only the trust of his clients, but also their lasting friendship. His profession lives in the homes he touched, each brushstroke a quiet testament to his character.

Beyond his profession, Jeff was a devoted family man and friend. He is survived by his partner, Elizabeth Moore of Wyoming, PA, with whom he shared many wonderful years filled with love and laughter. He remained close with his former wife, Gail (Rondinella) Hildebrand of Luzerne, and was a proud and caring father to Bill Hildebrand of Danville and Cher (Hildebrand) Pyfer, and her husband John, of Bloomsburg. He adored his granddaughter, Elizabeth Pyfer, and was delighted to see her building a future with her fiancé, Lucas Eisenhuth.

In his heart, Jeff kept the cherished memories of his late son Erik Hildebrand who passed on July 12, 2019, and his late grandson Alexander Pyfer who passed on June 8, 2025. He took comfort in the hope of one day being reunited with them in heaven, watching over those they loved.

Jeff had a special way of connecting with people—not through grand gestures, but through kindness, loyalty, his dry wit, and his one-of-a-kind laugh that could bring a smile or a chuckle at just the right moment. He loved the simple things in life: a quiet morning by the water, good music, working with his hands, and time spent with those he loved.

One of Jeff’s favorite memories was building a pond with his family and friends. In his free time, Jeff enjoyed watching the sunset over the Inlet, NASCAR racing, playing golf with his friends, and working on his car.

A Celebration of Jeff’s life will be announced at a later date.

The family will provide flowers. The family asks that you honor his memory by making a donation in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to his heart, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Online Donations - St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
