Obituary For John Anthony Alexander

John Anthony Alexander,69, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, September 8, 2025, at his residence. He was born November 2, 1955, in Sayre, PA, the son of the late Orlando James and Mary L. Cardi Alexander.

John graduated from Sayre High School in 1974.

He was married to the love of his life, Tina Mae Erlston Alexander for 42 years, who survives. They were married June 11, 1983.

John was a hardworking laborer at Mohawk Doors in Northumberland, PA for 10 years. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft earned him the respect of his colleagues.

He was well known by all who knew him for being a Jack of All Trades helping whoever needed help in any way. John enjoyed being a Little League coach for many years alongside his wife. His other enjoyments included hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

John will be remembered for his unwavering support given to his wife who was his best friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Jason M. Alexander and his wife Stephanie; Darrell J. Alexander and his wife Deborah and Kyle O. Alexander; all of Danville, PA. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Ryleigh, Harper, Finley, Dalton, Lincoln, Oliver and Camden as well as two brothers: James Alexander and his wife Sharon of Sayre, PA and Joel Alexander and his wife Laurie of Athens, PA and two sisters: Jeanne Bowman of Sayre, PA and Jackie Abbott and her husband Jason of Florida. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, P.J. Bowman.

His love for his family was boundless, and he forged treasured memories with them that will last a lifetime.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of John’s life to be held at the Southside Fire Company in Riverside, PA on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM.

The family will provide flowers. The Alexander sons request that memorial contributions in their father’s name may be made to the Danville Girl’s Wrestling c/o Darrell Alexander 131 E. Front Street Danville, PA 17821.

    I don't recall the last time I saw John. I worked with him the Label Processing plant at Banana Curve. We worked in the shipping department together. We worked hard, had fun and sometimes lunch at a local pub, turned into an afternoon off. We had good times, good memories. Thoughts and Prayers🙏to his Family. Rest-In-Peace John !

    I had not seen John since high school graduation so it was so nice to visit with him that weekend last year at our 50th reunion. We chatted quite a bit and I met Tina at the bowling alley. One thing was for sure- he sure loved those grandkids! RIP John...
