Obituary For John B. Kinn

John B. Kinn, 81, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born on February 25, 1944, in Danville, PA, the Son of the late Jacob B. and Mae (Clauser) Kinn.

John graduated from Danville Area High School in 1962.

He served his country with honor in the United Stated Army from 1964-1967. John served as an SP5 Medical Specialist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington DC and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he went on to graduate from the Rockland State Hospital School of Nursing in Orangeburg, New York in 1969. He then attended the Geisinger Medical Center School of Anesthesia from 1969 to 1971.

John was employed for 15 years in southern New Jersey from 1971-1986, providing anesthesia services to Bridgeton Hospital, Salem County Memorial Hospital, and Millville Hospital. In 1987 he returned to his hometown of Danville, PA where he continued to provide anesthesia services at Susquehanna Health System, Williamsport, PA, as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). John ultimately retired in 2011 after 40 years as an anesthetist.

He was an active member of The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists from 1971-2011 and an active member of The Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists from 1986-2011.

John was a man of many passions. He found joy in sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, where he created cherished memories with family and friends. Music and reading were also vital parts of his life, providing him with inspiration and solace. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and a profound love for his family.

He was married to his loving wife, the late Rose Mary (Imrich) Kinn for 57 years. They were married on January 21, 1967.

John is survived by one son, Sean Kinn, and his wife Rebecca, of Huntingtown, MD; one brother, James Kinn of Green Lane, PA; and one sister, Patricia Lindemuth of Numidia, PA. He is also survived by two grandsons whom he adored: John and Henry Kinn of Huntingtown, MD.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville, PA.
