Obituary For John Nicol

John Nicol,84, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He was born March 12, 1940, in Irvington, New Jersey.

He served his country with honor in the United States Army.

He was married to the love of his life, the late Kerry E. Nicol, for 20 years. They were married on August 11, 1996.

John was employed as an Engineer by Merck.

John was a man of many passions and interests, cheering on his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and savoring the sights and sounds of baseball games. His zest for life extended beyond sports, as he delighted in exploring flea markets, attending auctions, trying his luck at the casino, and relishing the vibrant atmosphere of fairs. A gifted artist, John channeled his creativity into various forms of craftsmanship, whether it be painting, sculpting, or any endeavor that allowed him to express his artistic talents with his hands. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, friends and his furry companion, Sonny.

John touched the hearts of many with his kind spirit, unwavering determination, and warm presence. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

John is survived by three sons; John Nicol, Jr. and his wife Missy of South Carolina; Frank Nicol and his wife Beth of New Jersey and Nicholas Nicol of Danville, PA as well as five loving grandchildren, Brian, Amanda, Christopher, Ryan and Bella. He was also blessed with two great grandchildren: Vincent and Nicholas. John also has three brothers, Robert Nicol, Ron Nicol and James Nicol as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
