Obituary For Lee R. Quinton

Lee R. Quinton, 76, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 17, 2023, at his residence. He was born on November 17, 1947, in Bloomsburg, PA, the son of the late Charles Quinton and Arlene Swank Quinton

Lee graduated from Danville High School in 1965 and received an associate degree from Williamsport Community College.

He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era from 1967-1969 and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was married to his devoted and loving wife of 47years, Margaret Powers Quinton. They were married June 26, 1976.

Lee worked at KVS from 1973 – 1981. He was then employed by TRW in Danville PA from 1982-2004 and drove for NAPA Auto Parts in Danville PA.

He was a member of the American Legion, Danville Moose and several fire companies in the Danville area. His memberships also included the Big Rock Rod and Gun Club and the Western Clinton County Sportsmen’s Association.

An avid outdoorsman, he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played in the fast pitch softball league and the bowling league for several years. One of his greatest enjoyments was tinkering with cars and spending time with his friends and family.

Lee was a determined man of unwavering work ethic and a revered mentor to his children. He will also be remembered for his steady presence in his family. Many found themselves grateful for his selfless nature, as he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed his help. Lee leaves behind a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and a passion for outdoor activities.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Lance R. Quinton and his significant other, Amy of Muncy PA and Kelly L. Westfall and her husband Jason of Suffolk VA and their families. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Quinton of Riverside PA and one sister Ruth Gecosky of Juneau Alaska: one niece and four nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Lee’s life which will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville, PA 17821 with Linda Wagner, Celebrant officiating. Friends will be received from 12:30 – 1:45 PM. Burial will be private. Military Rites will be accorded by the Danville American Legion Post 40 and the United States Army Honor Guard.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to The Dialysis Unit of Geisinger Medical Center 32 Justin Drive Office #1 Danville PA 17821.
