Obituary For Marilyn A. Hoffman

Marilyn A. Hoffman, 83, of Northumberland, formerly of Long Valley, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. She was born on December 29, 1941, in Dover, New Jersey, the only child of the late George R. and Dorothy Bartelmes Boyd.

Marilyn graduated from Dover High School in 1958.

Marilyn was employed in the continuing education department at Morris County College in Randolph, New Jersey, from where she retired after 27 years of service.

She was a member of For HIM Quilters, Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, Montandon, PA and an active member of the Eastern Star in Long Lake, New York. Marilyn was also a member of the Long Valley Fire Auxiliary in New Jersey.

A woman of many passions, Marilyn held a deep love for the Adirondacks, where she found solace and inspiration in nature. She was also an avid quilter, creating beautiful pieces that not only reflected her artistic flair but were also infused with love for her family and friends. Marilyn devoted her heart to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing the moments spent together and the memories created.

She is survived by three sons; Ed Hoffman and his wife, Becky of Northumberland, PA; Richard D. Hoffman and his wife, Jenni of Indian Lake, New York; and Robert G. Hoffman and his significant other, Shellie Tilwick of Bangor, PA as well as eight grandchildren, Ben Hoffman, Cody Hoffman, Erica Hoffman, Katrina Green, Dillon Hoffman, Maggie Collins, Amy Salazar, and Ben Meyer. Marilyn is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way as well as four cousins. She is also survived by three former daughter in-laws, Suzanne R. Hoffman, Patricia Hoffman and Melody Hoffman.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
