Obituary For Mark Douglas Kutcher
Mark Douglas Kutcher, 75, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born on May 13, 1948, in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Julius C. and Mary M. (Keuscher) Kutcher.
Mark graduated from Danville Area High School in 1966 and from Wilkes-Barre Business College in 1969.
He was married to his loving wife, Terry L. (Lemon) Kutcher for 55 years. They were married on November 2, 1968.
Mark was employed by TRW as a bookkeeper, then as a Data Processor for Commonwealth Bank and then went on to become a Chemical Operator for Merck from where he retired after over 30 years of service. After retirement Mark enjoyed working security for Knoebel’s Amusement Park, Elysburg.
He was a member of Southside Fire Company where he was a former volunteer firefighter and a lifetime member as well as Merck Fire Company.
Mark had a life filled with love and dedication to his family and to the community. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, finding joy in volunteering, attending all sports events for his grandson, chaperoning band trips and working band concession stands. Whether he was cheering on his grandson Justin at sporting events or enjoying WWE matches, football chapels at First Baptist Church and watching Washington Redskins games, Mark's passion and support were unwavering.
In addition to his volunteer work and love for sports, Mark cherished traveling with his wife and family and finding peace while riding his lawn mower. He was known for his caring nature and willingness to help others in any way he could. Mark's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by two loving daughters; Mary E. Williams (Ron) of Danville and Julia D. Kutcher of Riverside. He is also survived by two grandsons; Justin D. Kutcher of Danville and Austin L. Williams (Kaitlin) of Montgomery as well as one great-grandson, Granger L. Williams.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Mark’s Life to be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 12 Brookside Drive (Route 642 East), Danville, with Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Friends will be received from 9:45am to 10:45am at the church.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville Ironmen Football Boosters, PO Box 372, Danville, PA 17821 or First Baptist Church.
