Marleen Collins Miller Rathfon Hubert, 73, of Rush Twp, Danville, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her home. She was born on Sunday, August 3, 1951, in Danbury, CT, the daughter of the late Jesse Collins and Josephine Beaugrand.

Two life experiences brought both pleasure and meaning throughout her lifetime. Having taught a diverse group of children, for thirty plus years, in three different states, taught her a great deal. Students and families alike were wonderful to work with and each day of doing so brought a smile to her face. Of the thousands of students she taught, she could only recall a few troublesome enough that she pondered throwing them from a bridge. All in all, Marleen felt like she experienced more joy than sorrow in her lifetime. She loves each of you and is thankful for the happiness you brought to her.

The second experience was travel, which consisted of a myriad of excursions, sometimes alone and sometimes with others, expanding her views on what a wonderful country we live in.

She was a lover of learning, books, poetry, philosophy, a Junian follower and practitioner of I Ching - which explains why she was always late, due to searching for all those coins.

Marleen is proceeded in transitioning by her parents and both of her brothers, Aaron Collins and Gregory Collins, as well as numerous family and relatives.

Her children, Robert Charles Rathfon and Sarah Pillsbury Rathfon were her biggest joy until she was blessed with Marlee Rathfon and Katie Rathfon. The girls filled her heart daily and reminded her that there are always reasons to celebrate.

The remaining siblings include Patricia Collins Epstein and Nancy Collins, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and by Nadine Johnson Tuttle and Brian Tuttle, who are each part sibling and part cousin.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
