Obituary For Mary E. Crone
Mary E. Crone, 80, of Rush Township, Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 17, 2025. She was born on September 6, 1944, in Newberry, PA, the daughter of the late Clayton Cleveland and Mary Ellen (Altland) Lentz.
Mary attended Central High School in York, PA.
She was married to her devoted husband, Stanley E. Crone, Sr. for 62 years.
They were married on June 9, 1962.
Mary was employed as a nurse’s aide with various nursing homes. She also loved being a housewife and farm wife.
She was a member of Klinesgrove United Methodist Church, Sunbury, PA and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
Mary embraced the role of housewife with grace and passion, pouring her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and the exploration of new places through travel. A beloved figure on the farm, Mary found joy in mowing the large yard, riding her horses, and caring for her goats. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter: Barbara A. Cooper and her husband Gary of Danville and two sons; Stanley E. Crone, Jr., of Danville and Richard A. Crone and his significant other, Roxanne McDermott of Danville. Mary is also survived by six grandchildren; Nicholas A. Cooper, Christopher A. Cooper, David Crone, Gracie Crone, Rusty Crone, and Samuel Crone as well as two great grandchildren; Porter Crone and Lucy Crone. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her beloved dog, Spike.
She was preceded in death by one daughter in-law; Traci (Hancock) Crone, one brother; Robert Lentz and two sisters; Shirley Harbold and Thelma Yeaple as well as her beloved dog, Missy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Mary’s Life to be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00AM at Klinesgrove United Methodist Church, 1058 Church Road, Sunbury, PA with the Pastor Eric Light officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00am to 10:45am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
