Obituary For Matthew Martin Williams

Matthew Martin Williams, 43, of Frackville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He was born on July 2, 1981, in Pottsville, PA, the son of Martin Richard Williams of Wilburton, PA and Louise Ann Matzuk Richards of Riverside, PA.

Matthew graduated from Danville High School in 1999 and from Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, PA in May of 2006 with an associate’s degree in food production management and with a Certificate in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Matthew was employed as a line cook by BJ’s Pit Barbeque and Pub in Danville, PA from 2003-2006, Assistant Kitchen Manager with Quaker Steak and Lube in Bloomsburg, PA from 2006-2007, as Supervisor of Italian Kitchen at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA from 2007-2008, Supervisor of the Husky Lounge from 2008 – 2010, Assistant Store Manager for Sheetz, Inc. from 2010-2022, Boyers Market in Shenandoah and most recently as an assistant to Dr. Kurt K. Kovalovich, Podiatrist in Pine Grove, PA.

He attended and was in preparation of joining the Church of the Holy Apostle, St. Clair, PA, where he enjoyed serving breakfast. He held the rank of Life Scout in Boy Scouting. He was also a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow in Boy Scouting.

Matthew was a movie buff and loved attending concerts. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid Penn State Football and Pittsburgh Steelers Football fan. He loved gaming with his son, Noah, whom he adored.

Matthew was not only a devoted family member but also a friend to many. His infectious smile could light up a room, and his adventurous spirit led to countless unforgettable moments with those he loved. Matthew will be remembered for his sense of humor, selfless heart in wanting to help others and keeping family bonds very strong. He will be missed as a wonderful son, grandson, brother and father.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Noah Matthew Williams, 14, of Frackville, PA, his stepmother, Rosemarie Williams of Wilburton, PA and his stepfather, Thomas Charles Richards of Riverside, PA. Also surviving are two brothers: Jeffrey Scott Williams and his wife, Jeanne of Erie, PA and Martin R. Williams, Jr. and his wife Valerie of Westbrook, Maine; one stepbrother, Brian Yablonski and his wife Bridget of Coal Township, PA and one stepsister, Katherine Richards of West Haven, CT. Also surviving are Noah’s maternal grandparents, Adele and Henry C. Fritz of Girardville, PA and his Uncle Jeff Fritz and his wife Sarah of Nanticoke, PA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Matthew’s Life to be held on, Monday, April 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA with Linda L. Wagner as celebrant and the Reverend Dr. Kurt K. Kovalovich assisting. Friends will be received from 9:30 – 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in Straub’s Lutheran Cemetery Danville, PA.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Louise A. Richards, In Trust for Noah M. Williams, 436 Dewart Street PO Box 356 Riverside, PA 17868.
