Obituary For Nancy A. Boyce

Nancy A. Boyce, 92, of Elysburg, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 28, 2026, at Geisinger Medical center, Danville, Pennsylvania. She was born July 20, 1933, in Shamokin, PA, the daughter of the late Russell and Verna Hatter Yost.

She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1951 and from Ashland Nursing School in 1955 as a registered nurse.

She was married for 54 years to the love of her life, Ned Alfred, who preceded her in death in 2010. They were married November 19, 1955.

Nancy was employed as a registered nurse at Sunbury Community Hospital and enjoyed private duty nursing.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Danville, PA, where she was actively involved in the Daughters of the Divine Sunday school class. In previous years, she was a member of Elysburg United Methodist Church where she served as their organist for over 55 years.

Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy was a vibrant soul with a passion for life. Her love for playing the piano and organ as well as roller-skating infused joy into her days. One of her greatest passions was creating beautiful holiday events that brought her family together, filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Nancy will be remembered for her contagious smile, her characteristic chuckle, and her wonderful sense of humor. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted follower of Jesus, known for her fervent prayers and her voracious reading of the Bible. Her faith was a beacon of light for many, providing comfort and strength to those around her.

She is survived by one son, Mark A. Boyce (Tammy) of Riverside PA and two daughters; Cindy S. Poliniak (Dave) of Riverside PA and Brenda A. Ferdock (Ed) of Elysburg PA. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Phillip (Rachel) Poliniak of Norristown, PA; Christopher Poliniak of Baltimore, MD; Bethany Thompson (Nathan) of Sunbury, PA; Matthew Boyce (April) of Pleasant Grove, TX; Michael Boyce of Sioux City, SD; Mikayla Schembari (Stephen) of Bend, OR and Koryn Ennis of Mount Carmel, PA; and great-grandchildren: Abby and Sophia Poliniak; all of whom she adored.

Services and burial will be private. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church 12 Brookside Drive Danville PA 17821.
