Obituary For Pamela J. Bowman

Pamela J. Bowman, 69, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Vintage Knolls following a courageous, two-decade battle with cancer.

“It is what it is,” she would say, after picking her own time and place.

Pam was born May 28, 1954, in Norristown, the daughter of the late William and Carol (Sillers) Richards. On Nov. 16, 1974, she married Richard Gary Bowman, who survives. They celebrated 48 years of marriage together last fall.

As a non-traditional student, Pam earned a bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University. She spent the latter part of her career as a selfless caseworker and supervisor with Northumberland County’s Children & Youth Services before her retirement in 2019.

She spent several years as the president of Danville Little League to ensure more time with her family, spending many nights closing down the concession stand. Pam did have to implement some special rules for holiday dining because her boys were boys.

Pam enjoyed cooking and crafts, especially the precision of her intricate cross-stitch, and spending time with her dogs, Jack, Abby and Roscoe.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include William Bowman and his wife, Kira, of Danville, and Keith Bowman, and his wife, Jenn, of Danville, along with grandchildren, Maren, Lukas, Harper and Brant Bowman; siblings William (Dee) Richards, Michael (Alice) Richards and Kathleen (Michael Romanosky) Richards and their families.

A Celebration of Pam’s Life will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Danville PA with Linda L. Wagner as Celebrant. Friends will be received from 2:00 PM until 3:15 PM.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889 Dallas TX 75380 or online at www.komen.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Visneski Funeral Home.www.visneski.com.

She made delicious city chicken. She was a fun relaxed spirit that I will miss. Gary loved her forever and fiercely. I wish I had another moment with her. God speed and bless you Pam.
