Obituary For Patricia Jean Hilkert

Patricia Jean Hilkert,81, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Geisinger Medical Center, Muncy, PA. She was born August 31, 1942, in Johnstown PA, the daughter of the late William G. and Twila Elizabeth Mitchell Davis.

Pat graduated from Central Cambria High School in Ebensburg PA. Later, she was a graduate of cosmetology.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joseph T. Hilkert. They were married on February 27, 1965.

Pat was a housewife for most of her life and enjoyed being a clerk at Beiter’s Department Store in Danville PA for 30 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Danville PA.

Patricia was a woman of many talents and had a great passion for crafting. Her attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship were evident in every piece she created. Patricia's skill and dedication to her craft brought joy to those who received her handmade gifts, which will forever serve as a reminder of her love and creativity. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling to see covered bridges in many states which brought her great joy. One of her favorite pastimes was taking pictures of her grandchildren and many family events.

Beyond her baking, candy making and crafting abilities, Patricia was a devoted and nurturing mother. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children and selflessly provided them with a loving and supportive environment. Her unwavering guidance and encouragement helped shape their lives, instilling in them values of kindness, compassion, and resilience.

Her warm smile, gentle spirit and infectious laughter will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all those who knew her.

She is survived by one son, Duane A. Hilkert and his wife Concetta, and three daughters: Arlene Derr and her husband Gary, Melany Novosel and her husband Greg and Faith Ann Johnson; all of Danville PA. Her memory will be cherished by her 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 68 Center Street, Danville, PA with the Reverend Timothy Marcoe as celebrant. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:45 in St. Hubert’s Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Danville.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Visneski Funeral Home, Inc 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA 17821.
