Obituary For Richard L. Jordan

Richard L. Jordan, 88, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1938, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Samuel and Esther (Ikeler) Jordan.

Dick graduated from Danville Area High School and attended Susquehanna University.

In 1954, he met the love of his life, Shirley (Strausser) Jordan and they were married in 1956. Shirley passed away in 1998.

He was married to the late Emma Jean (James) Jordan. They were married in 2002.

Throughout his long and fulfilling career in HVAC, Dick was known not only for his technical expertise but also for his warm demeanor. He poured his heart into his work, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Dick was a member of the Danville-Mahoning Masonic Lodge #224, Danville.

He cherished his winter home in Kissimmee, Florida, where he would soak up the sun and create countless joyful memories. His adventurous spirit led him on incredible cruises to the Caribbean, the West Coast, and South America. Closer to home, he found solace and happiness while fishing on the shores of Lake Ontario. Above all, Dick's greatest treasure was his family. The time spent with them was filled with laughter, love, and lessons.

He is survived by three children; Richard “Rick” L. Jordan, II, Holly Jordan and David Mills, and Scott Jordan and his wife Roselyn as well as his grandchildren, whom he adored; Stacey, Kyle, Timothy, Matthew, Michelle, and Michael and great-grandchildren; Austin, Tristan, Cassidy, Benjamin, Crew, Ace and Brody.

In addition to his parents and wives; he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Jordan, Charles Jordan and Samuel Jordan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Richard’s Life to be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 W. Mahoning St., Danville, PA with the Reverend Carvel May officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 to 12:45pm. A masonic service will be conducted at 12:45pm by the brethren of Danville-Mahoning Masonic Lodge #224. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
