Obituary For Robert A. Savidge

Robert A. Savidge, 82, of Danville, PA passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He was born December 26, 1941, in Danville, PA, the son of the late William G. and Hazel H. Conway Savidge.

Bob played football at Danville High School where he graduated in 1961.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Donna Marie Snyder Savidge who passed away August 16, 2007. They were married March 31, 1962.

Bob was employed at Danville State Hospital from where he retired.

Bob attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville. Bob was a longtime member of Danville-Mahoning Lodge #224 Free and Accepted Masons. He served on the Valley Township Water and Sewer Authority. His other memberships included the Continental Fire Company and East End Fire Company.

As a sports enthusiast, Bob coached Little League Baseball and enjoyed watching golf and college football. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, farming and riding his ATV. Bob was an avid newspaper reader and fan of the Fox News Channel. He often impressed others with his knowledge of current events. Bob will be remembered as being a caring, faithful, hardworking man with a heart of gold who always thought of others.

He is survived by one daughter, Debra J. Savidge of Mechanicsburg, PA and one son, Curt R. Savidge of Danville, PA. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Paige Savidge, Eric Savidge and Lauren Savidge and two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Arden. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Savidge and two sisters: Audrey Hutchison and Karen Schultz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob’s Life to be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville, PA with the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 – 10:45 AM, at which time Masonic services will be held. Burial will follow in Straub’s Lutheran Cemetery in Danville, PA.
