Obituary For Robert D. Reed
Robert D. Reed, 61, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born on May 24, 1963, in Sunbury, PA, the son of the late Robert M. and Bernice L. (Lenker) Reed.
Robert graduated from Line Mountain High School in 1981 and later from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA in 1997 with a degree in HVAC Technology.
Robert was employed by YBC as a forklift operator in Sunbury for 20 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville where he served as a cross bearer, sang in the choir and was always available to help out wherever he was needed. Robert was also a member of Milton Lodge #256 F & AM.
Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Robert enjoyed attending professional wrestling matches. He also loved working on jig saw puzzles and woodworking.
Robert will be remembered for his selfless spirit, always wanting to help people if there was a need.
He is survived by his best friend of 40 years, Margaret “Peg” Deeter of Danville; one son, Christopher Reed and one daughter, Elizabeth Reed; both of Danville. Robert is also survived by one sister, Anna Latsha of Northumberland and one niece, Amanda Coleman of Northumberland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Robert’s Life to be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 12:00pm noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 241 East Market Street, Danville, PA with his pastor the Reverend Trevor J. Hahn officiating. Friends will be received 11:00am-11:45am. Burial will follow in Himmel’s Church Cemetery, Dornsife, PA.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Danville SPCA, 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
