Obituary For Robert E. Pegg

Robert E. Pegg, 94, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Emmanuel Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation Danville, PA. He was born on August 29, 1930, in Danville, PA, the son of the late Francis G. and Emma M. Ritter Pegg.

Robert graduated from Danville High School in 1949.

He served his country with honor in the United States Navy on the USS Randolph, and he was a firefighter at NAS Corpus Christi.

Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Sandra I. Rowe Pegg. They were married on November 26, 1955.

In his earlier years, he was employed by Wernersville State Hospital where he worked with the love of his life, whom he later married. He was employed by Merck and Company for 35 years, retiring in 1991. After his retirement, he enjoyed being a handyman doing odd jobs and delivering flowers for Scott’s Florist.

Robert loved woodworking and was well known for his handcrafted Scottie Dogs which he generously gave to many. A great joke teller, his legacy of humor is left to many of his children. An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed Danville High School sports, Penn State, Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. A jack of all trades, he also enjoyed “Penny Ante”.

Robert will be remembered as a wonderful, dedicated husband and father. It was very important to him that he worked two jobs so that his wife could stay home and raise the children. He loved taking all his family on Sunday drives in their station wagon

I met Mr. Pegg at Saint Joseph Church...I would sit with him on a sunday morning on the bench in the back of the church. Although I didnt know him personally, he alway had a smile, was always a happy and very sociable man who loved to make people laugh and who talked highly about his family and friends.. I still have a piece of his woodworking that he had given me..A little raindeer. He truly was a special man....may he now rest in peace in the loving arms of our Lord... Prayers for him and his family..

Uncle Bob was ever so talented and generous with his creations. We are so glad that we have tangible pieces of wood that he made himself. His vocal presence, stories, and pride of immediate and extended family are a few of the things that we respect and will miss the most. Carol Pegg Kuprevich Family
