Obituary For Robert F. Roshon
Robert F. Roshon, 85, of Northumberland, PA, was taken by our Lord and Savior to his final journey home on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He was born on July 5, 1941, in Shamokin, PA; the son of the late Robert and Emily (Cromley) Roshon.
Bob graduated from Danville Area High School in 1959.
He served his country with honor in the United States Navy. Bob served in Cuba during the Cuban Crisis.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Alice (Umstead) Roshon for almost 65 years. They were married on October 28, 1961.
Bob was employed with the Boilermakers Local 13 of Philadelphia, PA and Merck & Co.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mayberry Twp.
Bob was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the tranquility of fishing, the excitement of auctions, and watching reruns of Gunsmoke. However, his greatest enjoyment came from spending quality time with his family, creating cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of those who loved him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Bobby (Carla) Roshon of Bigfork, Montana; Rocky (Holly) Roshon of Sunbury, PA; and Holly Renninger (Grant) of Herndon, PA as well as three grandchildren; Casey Renninger, Sydney Renninger and Chloe Roshon and two great-grandchildren; Brylee Lenker and Bo Snyder. Bob is also survived by one sister; Sandra Gutosky of Kernersville, NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Wayne Roshon and William Roshon; and one sister; Diane “Dolly” Fields.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob’s Life to be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 59 High Road, Mayberry Township, Danville, PA with the Pastor Sarah Hirschberger officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00am-10:45am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Danville American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.
