Obituaries

Robert L. Reedy, 76, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at The Gardens of Millville, Millville, PA. He was born November 1, 1946, in New Columbia, PA; the son of the late John and Ruth (Beachel) Reedy.

Robert graduated from Danville Area High School.

He was married to the late Doris Reedy who passed away in June of 2022. They would have been married for 50 years in September of 2022.

Robert was employed by various state hospitals in the Laundry and Dietary departments as well as the Danville Area School District as a custodian.

Robert enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball and football with the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite teams. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, especially all his grandchildren.

He is survived by one daughter; Cathy Reedy Gerst and her husband William “Bill” and one stepson; Gary Wertman and his wife Deb as well as six grandchildren; Sabrina, Bobbi Jo, Jamie, Hunter, Scotty, and Ronnie Sue. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren. Robert is also survived by three sisters; Mary Knapp and her husband George, Lucy Koser, and Helen Olson and her husband Donald and one brother; Dan Reedy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Bill Reedy and Harry Reedy; and one sister; Betty. Robert was also preceded in death by one stepson; John Wertman and one granddaughter; Lindsey Wertman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00am at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 1402 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
