Obituary For Robert Thomas Huntington
Robert Thomas “Bob” Huntington, 71, of Danville, PA, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1953, in Bloomsburg, PA, the son of the late Howard Franklin and Loretta Pearl (Share) Huntington.
Bob graduated from Danville Area High School in 1971.
He served his country with honor in the United States Navy from October of 1974 to October of 1978 as a Fire Control Technician (Surface Missile Fire Control) Petty Officer Third Class. Bob served on the USS Chicago as well.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 46 years, Julia Ann (Kelley) Huntington on February 1, 2022. They were married June 28, 1975.
Bob was employed by PP&L as a Plant Equipment Operator from where he retired after thirty years of service.
He was a member of Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church.
Bob was an avid golfer and approached life with a spirit of adventure that also led him to enjoy fishing, woodworking, and the pursuit of seashells along the shore. His passion for puzzles and reading reflected his inquisitive mind, yet it was his profound love for his family that stood at the heart of his existence. Bob cherished his role as a father to his beloved daughter, Becky.
A beloved father and husband, Bob was known for his simple, easy-going nature and unwavering selflessness, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.
He is survived by one daughter: Rebecca “Becky” Huntington of Danville, PA, and one brother Richard E. Huntington and his wife Cherie of Virginia.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Raymond C. Huntington.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Robert’s Life to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church, 108 Welliver Drive, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 with the Pastor Chuck Chamberlain officiating. Friends will be received from 09:30am to 10:45am. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
