Obituaries

Ruth A. Raup, 88, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville PA on October 17, 2023. She was born October 17, 1935, in Liberty Township PA the daughter of the late Harry Thomas and Annabelle Kathryn Reichard Kline.

She was preceded in death by her husband, of 50 years, James R. “Jack” Raup on February 26, 2012. They were married on November 17, 1961.

Ruth was employed over the years at various companies.

She was a member of the Danville High School Class of 1953 and the Washies Fire Company in Danville, PA.

Ruth enjoyed traveling around the world, she has been to France, Spain, Holland, Germany, and Italy. Ruth has cruised Nova Scotia and the Bahamas. She enjoyed going to Disney World with her daughter, Julie, numerous times. She was an avid reader and later on she enjoyed audio books.

She will be remembered for being independent, strong-willed, detail oriented, and organized.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Julie K. Raup of Danville PA. A son, James Raup II and his wife Alba of Lewisburg PA. Two granddaughters; Julia Raup of Danville PA and Joanna Raup Collado of Lewisburg PA.

Ruth is also survived by three Stepbrothers: Gerald VonBlohn, Dean VonBlohn and his wife June all of Danville PA, and Larry VonBlohn and his wife, Jennifer of Grapevine, Texas. Also surviving are several cousins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother; Thomas Harry Kline and two sisters; Lois Gabriel and Esther Hettinger.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
