Obituary For Samuel James Mann

Samuel James Mann, 92, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at his residence. He was born on May 28, 1933, the only child of Samuel Wendel and Clara Rhoades Mann.

He graduated from Danville Senior High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy from Penn State University.

James is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 71 years, Glendora Shuler Mann. They were married on August 20, 1955.

He was employed as a metallurgist at Sprout-Bauer in Muncy, PA for over 35 years, from where he retired.

He was a longtime and active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville. He was a member of the American Society for Metals and was a founding member of the Danville Community Band where he remained a member for 50 years.

James enjoyed gardening and landscaping. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending quality time with each of his daughters and their families.

He will be remembered as a selfless, humble person and a true gentleman, always willing to help his family and his neighbors throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Marcie Mann-Clark of Hoschton, GA, Valerie Roth of Mechanicsburg, PA; Carol Mann Graf and her husband Rolph of New Hope, PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 241 E. Market Street Danville, PA 17821.
