Obituary For Sandra J. Wydra

Sandra J. Wydra, 75, of, Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 27, 2025, at Emmanuel Center Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danville, Pennsylvania. She was born on July 29, 1949, in Danville, PA, the daughter of the late John W. and Elizabeth I. Fox Wydra.

Sandra graduated from Danville High School.

Sandra was employed by Geisinger Medical Center as a receptionist for 34 years, from where she retired.

She loved taking bus trips, especially with her granddaughter Kayla to the beach in Atlantic City, NJ and thoroughly enjoyed playing Bingo.

Sandra will be remembered as a committed, dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. Her selfless personality was so evident in how much she loved helping other people when she was able.

She is survived by her only daughter, Sharon K. Spiker and her significant other and “Rock” of her life, Roger Hans of Bloomsburg, PA. Also surviving is one brother, John “Whitey” Wydra and his wife Susan of Danville, PA, one sister-in-law, Terri Wydra and one brother-in-law, Robert Smith: both of Danville, PA. Also surviving are the joys in her life, one niece, Cora Wydra of Danville, PA and three nephews; Michael Smith of Danville, PA and his wife Marietta and John Wydra of North Carolina and Courtney Wydra of North Carolina; one great niece, Aria Smith of Danville, PA and two great-nephews: Simon and Isaiah Smith of Danville, PA.

Sandra was preceded in death by the untimely passing of her granddaughter, Kayla Spiker who passed away in 2022. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Mike Wydra and one sister, Debra Smith in 2025.

A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sandra’s granddaughter to the Kayla E. Spiker Scholarship Fund c/o Bloomsburg University Foundation Greenly Center 50 E. Main Street 4th Floor Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

    Sorry to hear of Sandra's passing, I worked with her and her Mother at Roselon Yarns back in the 70's until they closed.
